DESIGN PRINCIPLES

01

AESTHETIC INTEGRITY

Integrating key elements of visual design aesthetics is imperative in the pursuit of a functional user experience. The following key elements will be implemented within the overall design concept:

  • Balance

  • Color

  • Line

  • Patterns

  • Proximity

  • Scale

  • Shape

  • Texture

  • Visual Weight

02

INTELLIGIBLE TEXT CONTENT

Maintaining the balance between legibility and conservation of negative space increases overall readability for the user by implementing the following precepts into the design elements:

  • A minimum of 16 pix / 11 points for all text.

  • 30 - 40 characters per line.

  • Adding space between text to avoid visual clutter.

03

INTUITIVE NAVIGATION

Design a user-centered interface that intuitively navigates the user through clear pathways, allowing them to know where they are at all times. The relationship between elements on a page is achieved through content prioritization and consistency, thus increasing user efficiency to perform basic tasks.

Content Prioritization  // Utilizing structure hierarchy allows the user to recognize elements that the interface deems important.

Consistency // Implementing consistent and visible navigation controls increases user learnability.

04

ERGONOMICS

No matter who the user is or how they use their personal device, the design of the interface will consider solutions that ensure usability by:

  • Considering how various orientations and positions affect the reach areas.

  • Placing crucial information at the bottom of the layout.

  • Placing least important information at the top of the layout.

  • Limiting tap targets to 7 - 10 mm.

05

CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION

Maintaining a user-centered experience by frequently and continuously testing variations in design from the feedback generated by real-users.
